Once again, I find myself looking at my artwork and trying to analyze how I can get better. I've been drawing and coloring a lot these past 6(ish) months, and I can't help but realize I still have so much that I want to improve. I feel like I can see some obvious improvements, in my art, especially when I compare myself to last year. However, I know I can do better, and I want to improve.
So. . .
. . .I've decided to set up a new plan of action for me from now till the end of the year. I should be moving again in early January, so, in the mean time, this should be a good way for me to fill my time until then. My plan is basically this: 6 hours a day of working on art, 5 days a week. If I succeed, I reward myself with social media and video games. If I fail to meet my goal then I have to add extra workouts to my current weekly fitness workouts. (Extra miles running or extra hours weight lifting.)
The idea behind the reward/extra workouts is basically trying to train myself to actually achieve my goal. I know myself and I realize that If I don't limit social media and video games until AFTER the 6 hours, I will most likely NOT complete my goals. And I currently really DO NOT want to work out, so the idea of making my workouts more intense/longer sounds like great motivation for me to NOT fail.
Currently I am on day three of this new revised plan and have been working on primarily studying anatomy and general finger/muscle techniques for better control. I plan to do some artist studies as well as some studies of composition and practicing basic shapes, basic shading, and perspective (yay. . .
) If anyone is interested, i'll try to post some of the stuff I've been doing.
And, YES, I am still working on my graphic novel, The Forgotten, I am just only allowing myself 1 day a week (6 hours) to work on it, while I focus on improving other areas of my art from now until the end of the year.
